Construction Construct Unit.

It's no secret that advances in mechanization are responsible for the losses of millions of human-held jobs worldwide, and the Grome's entry into the construction sector in 2025 stands tall as an example of Mech Done Right. Even the first models of this ultraweight construction assistant proved capable of hauling high quantities of building materials in short order, and its Thrustpack teck allowed it unparalleled mobility on the battlefield (of getting stuff from point A to point B).

Advanced Grome models proved useful beyond mere precision material movement. By removing their AI SoftLand feature, Gromes can be convinced to abandon their Thrustpack pushes in midair, causing them to come crashing down to Earth with incredible momentum. The stated use of this ability is usually "construction durability testing". Some military offshoot groups have reportedly taken this use slightly further, arming their Grome units with back-mounted rocket launchers to "test" even more rigorously.

These cost Control a pretty penny—as it turns out, there's a pretty healthy demand for durable, mobile rocket launchers that can withstand virtually any fall trauma—but the good doctor loves them so. His argument focused on the "value of ballistic target trajectory for Contractor reflex improvement," and it seems the rest of the Board just bought it. Either they know something we don't, or Arlan's got a special talent for making the Board see things his way.
